Mr. 67's Birthday! 3 New Layouts From our Day at the Park

Oh my...Mr. 67 turned 35! We took Zae for a walk at Riverside Park to get some photos. I have to admit, I haven't scrapped any pictures of Zae so far. That's so terrible! He's eight months old already. I don't know what happened, but somehow, 2/3 of a year has gone by! I'm finally getting back into the swing of things and recovering the me in mom-me.

Hippie flower alert! I can tell I'm getting nearer to the end of my pile of scrapbook pages, because I haven't run across this little guy much recently.

I love using bling as the little "trail" behind butterflies, almost like you can see their meandering path. You can also see some of the fancy machine stitching I did for this layout. It's so fun to play with the different stitch patterns on my machine. I am pretty sure I've done more "sewing" on my scrapbook pages than I ever did with actual fabric.

We also snapped a family photo, based on our anniversary photo. I wanted to do a book with only pictures taken once a year on this bench. Being that it was such a beautiful day, the park was packed, so we ended up on a different bench. The original bench faced directly toward the river, and you can see Pettibone Park across the water. In the new one, the angle is set against the water, and you can see the bridges, which is nice, too, but not quite what I had in mind. We'll have to try again, but it still made a nice birthday family photo.

I scrapped these pics using some of the pages I made last summer when I was fidgety and impatient waiting for Zae to arrive. I haven't made anything new lately. I'm still in the process of creating my workspace in the spare bedroom that has become my office/make a mess room, but I have all these blank pages I've been meaning to use. When I made them, I didn't know if I was going to have a boy or girl. I ended up making a lot of pinkish pages, because I was guessing girl {yep, should have known right then he was going to come out waving a blue flag}.

I am usually the one behind the lens, so it was nice of Mr. 67 to jump up and take picture of me and Zae on his birthday!

The crochet flowers are all courtesy of my mom. I love digging in her giant pickle jar of flowers for just the right colors. Thanks, Mom :)

Speaking's mom's day coming up! My first ever, and I am so ecstatic to be a part of it this year. I've been waiting to celebrate this day for a long time. I am still pinching myself that after the agony of waiting and the losses we've been through, we're here. I look back on it and it seems like it was never, ever going to happen and then when it did, it ended badly. But now we're living the dream, and everything is sunshine and roses {okay, keeping it real here...the poopie diapers are anything but roses}. Keeping it even more real, I'll take those poopie diapers any day {they come with adoring smiles, after all!}.
