This Little Shy Baby: Ultrasound Layout

Gray and Yellow scrapbooking layout with stitching, bling, flowers, and button string

I have scrapped one other ultrasound, which wasn't a happy ending. I am happy to say that this ultrasound is of Zae, and of course that pregnancy had a happy ending. :) I love how he had his hands over his face. It's funny, because he loved to put his hands on his face and head when he just a little thing.

This was a dating ultrasound that I had done at about 11 weeks. This is another of those layouts {like Dream In Pink} that ended up being one of my favorites. Maybe because it's my first happy ultrasound, or that it's the first picture of my son. Maybe it's because the combination of gray and yellow and black is so striking. I don't know, but I love it.

Rolled roses...{inside joke--but if you want to play along you have to do shots! (no worries, I do shots of espresso)}

Yellow flowers with puff paint - Gray and Yellow scrapbooking layout with stitching, bling, flowers, and button string

These flowers were fun. For the one on the left, I layered some hand-dyed mulberry paper botanicals together, secured them with a yellow mini-brad, and added some puffy paint to the top layer. The bloom on the left got a dose of puffy paint, too, to echo the subtle pattern on the yellow flower in the top right corner of the layout, topped with a layer of glitter. I LOVE how it turned out! It's got some texture, a cute pattern, and adds a lot of interest where a plain yellow flower would be sort of lost in the background.

I love how these little typewriter key stickers worked with these polka dot letters.

I stole this "I'm in Love" chipboard sticker from some stickers meant for my husband...but as I'd already done his page (you can see it here!) I used it here and it works just as well :)

I cut up a couple different flourishes and used them together to get both silver and black. I like how it turned out, except that bigger gem that I used some glitter around...looks a little messy but whattayado...sometimes you experiment and it works...and sometimes it doesn't. {either way, you got to play with glitter so life is good}

I can't remember where I found this little gray mesh border with the little flowers...it might have been in the sewing aisle, but I loved the gray color so I hoarded it for a year or two until I had the perfect place to use it, and when I found this gorgeous yellow paper I knew I had to do a gray and yellow layout, because I'm just obsessed with this color combo lately.

I have two kits in my shop to get this look:

Yellow Dream - SOLD
Gorgeous Gray Golden

Back on point, how cute is this button string? I love how it turned out. I inherited my mom's love of buttons...and her hoard! I should amend that statement. I haven't actually inherited anything. Mom is alive and hasn't kicked the bucket yet (like she always says). But she loves that I use them. Also, how great is black against yellow?

I used some puff paint on some of my hand-dyed Prima Botanicals. I added some more glitter...to the flower, and to to the corner, where I smudged on some glue and let the glitter land where it would. {Oh glitter...you and I have such a great time together, don't we?}

And gotta rough up the edges a little. {husband on your nerves? rip some paper!}

I had some fun with some black thread thread on my sewing machine. {I swear I must use every single stitch pattern my machine offers on every single page I stitch on. But the reasons I scrapbook are multi-faceted...yes, I love having a finished book of beautiful memories...but I also enjoy the process of creating, so if it's not fun I won't do it. And to me, it's fun to go crazy with the stitching--and glitter}

Anyhoo...Zae is helping me type, so time to get off the laptop! Happy Friday!
