Grow: A Layout in Yellow

Scrapbook layout page in brown and yellow, featuring a bird theme and lots of flowers. Some mixed media painting in the background, too, with a couple fussy cuts.

Good day to you, scrapalicious friends. It's a short post from me today to share a recent layout. I've been feeling as lousy as the weather has been--it's been gloomy and drizzling for days here in Minnesota--so I had to do something to make up for the lack of sunshine. My solution: use lots and lots of sunny yellow. That was my jumping off point. Then I scrolled through my challenge round-up list to see what else inspired me.

Lots of challenges, like Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge, include a spring theme. Challenge #338 at Lasting Memories is to use Spring Flowers. Nothing sunnier than flowers. Check!

I used one of my favorite photos of Zae processing the world through his baby gaze. In the Inspired By a Word Challenge over at, I was inspired by the word grow. The sentiment reads: The day you were born was the day my heart started to beat. I'm sure all the mothers out there feel the same way...that was the day my heart swelled to twice its size. And as impossible as it grows more every day.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and lots of heart-starting moments :)
