Hi all! I'm in today to share my project for
Scrapping4Fun Challenge #91: Soft Colors. Isn't the inspiration photo gorgeous? The colors are so beautiful!
And don't forget to check out this challenge's sponsor: the
Scrapping4fun Shop which is going to go live soon!
The photo I chose for this layout is near and dear to my heart. Taken by my dad when I was around 10 or 11 years old, the little munchkin at my side is my beautiful little cousin, Francis Marie. She was my little "holder me" girl, because she was always wanting me to pick her up saying "holder me!" She was such a lovely little child, and she is a beautiful soul as an adult.
I've been wanting to scrap this photo for a long time, but you know how you have those special photos and you feel you can't do them justice? Sometimes you just have to pull on your boots and saddle up and...well, not sure where I'm going with this, but I was in a pink mood and thought I should spare Zae another pink layout. The paper is called Joyous Morning Anthem (from
DCWV Primrose Paper Stack), but this was actually in the evening. I feel I had to disclose that for posterity's sake, or something. I can't live with the lie!
{sorry, I'm tired and I get as silly as a [almost] two year old when he's overtired. ahem. Zae.}
You can see the beautiful countryside behind us, where this road meanders across the hilltop and then peters out to the great beyond. We lived deep in the Minnesota country, many miles from the nearest town, and we crossed most of the woods and fields on horseback. What beautiful memories.
By far the most time consuming part of this layout was heat embossing the chipboard. I used four colors of Imagine Ink: the neutral background (Oatmeal); a pink accent for the flowers (Glitter Coral); a dark green for
I have to thank
Lisa Landry because I'm still using flowers from the giant box of goodies she sent at Christmas
{totally trying not to hoard}!
I hope you get a chance to join in on this challenge, because anything goes on this one! You can create a layout, card, canvas, mini album, or off the page creation using the photo as inspiration. Deadline for this challenge is Thursday, June 8th, 2017, at 11:55 PM European Time.
Please, take in account the different time zones - you will find the Date and Clock on the top left above the blog posts of the
S4F Blog. European time is seven hours ahead of CST.
We can't wait to see what you create!

Beautiful layout and gorgeous colours
ReplyDeleteI love the softness of this beautiful layout. What wonderful recollection you have of your life - always love reading about it. Love your embossing (fabulous), stenciling, flower arrangements, the music sheet bg paper, how you rounded the corners of the photo and that little touch of 'rough' using loose burlap...yes, I just love the whole thing! : )
