Pieces of My Heart: Lasting Memories GDT

Guest design team layout in blue and purple, mosaic heart design using multiple photos with watercolors and mica flakes with wood bird cage and phrase stickers.

I'm in today to share my final May project as part of the GDT at Lasting Memories. What a fun month of scrapping I've had this month.

I used photoshop and created a heart shape, then cropped each photo before I printed them. Then I just trimmed off the white edges. You could just as easily create your own template and trim photos you already have printed.

I mounted the photos using my tape runner, then trimmed around the edge, and did the same with another layer of cardstock. Easy peasy, and what a fun look. I find myself getting stuck in standard old rectangle too often, so this was a fun change.

To get ideas for a color scheme and embellishments, I turned to CSI and solved Case File 230.

This layout was fun to create, and I know I would never have created anything like it without the prodding of a challenge! You can still get in on all challenges at Lasting Memories for this month until this Friday, May 26th. Here's a reminder of this month's challenges:

April 30th: Use small embellishments to create BIG number(s) or letter(s) on you layout.

May 7th: Use bakers twine to create a BIG shape on your layout.

May 14th: Use strips of paper (or washi tape) in a big way on your layout.

May 21st: Use lots of small photos to create one BIG shape on your layout.

I can't wait to see what you create!

  2. This is one of my most faves that you've designed!!! WOW!! How truly creative! I'm amazed how wonderful this looks - quite a fabulous illusion, making the photos look like they are inside little windows. The colors look fabulous together and I love the purple flakes on the background! Just gorgeous in every way!
