Anemone Bouquet: Mixed Media Layout

Mixed media scrapbook layout in purple and teal blue, Prima Timeless memories forever paper and prima moroccan dies, and Petaloo anemones against a background using texture paste and sprays

I had this beautiful Prima "Forever" Paper from the Timeless collection I've been dying to use (I love the aged look!), so when I saw a gorgeous mood board at Berry71Bleu I just knew I had to use it as the background for this mood board. The colors are so gorgeous and the romantic mood appealed to me. {read: permission to use flowers. Full speed ahead!}

I'm also entering this layout in the "Wedding" challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. I didn't have the big white dress wedding, but for the Wedding I Never Had,  I would have chosen this bouquet of anemones! Along with lilies of the valley and ranunculus, they are my favorite flowers!

Over at Mixed Media Monthly, they are asking us to pick one of the challenges from the last year in celebration of their third birthday. I made my layout rustic and used texture stamps in the background.

The teal anemone flower embellishments are by Petaloo (the teal ones seen here are sold out, but there are still some gorgeous colors available!)

The smaller purple and plum flowers are handmade by yours truly! You can find some of my creations in my Etsy shop :)

For the gorgeous die cut leaves, I used Prima's Moroccan foliage dies and cut them from plain white cardstock.

For the finish on the leaves, I coated them with Tim Holtz Metallic Antiqued Bronze Distress Paint mixed with a few drops of Ground Espresso.

The background work was done using Prima's texture paste and The Crafter's Workshop Mini Tile Texture stencil.

The wood flourish sentiment is one of the "Little Words" by Kaisercraft.

I used seed beads and Prima's Finnabair Art Ingredients Micro Beads in Berry here and there on the cheesecloth for added texture and interest.

  3. Oh,my...gorgeous work, Carrie ! All of the many fine details make this layout extra special. I love the contrast of the white wedding dress and of the dark colours of the paper, inks, and flowers. It's almost as if the photo itself is tucked in a flower bouquet. I love the addition of the cheese cloth and the tiny little beads. You are so talented. TFS. ♥
