If you remember back to the beginning of the month, I posted a layout called Lake City Sisters for the Cherish the Memory design team. This is the sister page to my sisters page ;)

My dad took those photos on our way up to the Twin Cities to see a production of Evita at the Orpheum Theater. It was such a fun trip, and such a great show, but what sticks out in my mind is this stop in Lake City, which lies along Lake Pepin (have you read the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder? This is where they crossed the Mississippi River to begin their adventure to Kansas!). It's a beautiful vista with all the boats, and I was so happy to finally get these photos scrapped!

I am so in love with the die cuts from this collection. That starfish made my day!

I have a ton of jute twine lying around, so I used a long length of it and had fun curling it around my feature elements.

I wanted my cheesecloth to be less airy, and more a part of the beautiful paper, so I layered it with some matte medium, which makes it less like a fibrous material and more like a textured stencil.

Then the fun part was adding prills and micro beads. I used a paintbrush dipped in the same matte medium as I used to paste down the cheese cloth and painted the little beads on with the brush.
