Happily Grateful: CSI 243

Christmas winter scrapbook page layout in light blue, green, gray, and black with holiday and snowflake elements

Happy December my friends! Time for wool socks (at least here in the frozen northland!), snuggling up around crackling fires with mugs of hot cocoa, listening to Christmas carols beneath twinkling lights. It brings to mind the first time Zae rolled over. He was two months old and was lying on his back under the Christmas tree by my feet. The next thing I know he had disappeared: rolled over onto his tummy behind the coffee table. He had been practicing, flinging his leg over, for weeks, but I never thought he'd have actually get it done before he started rolling from front to back. From that point on, it's been one eye on what I'm doing, and the other on the little mischief maker.

I think I'll think of that every year when we set up the Christmas tree and I lay out the tree skirt, remembering when he was just the little baby that he will never be again.

The title of this page perfectly describes how I feel about having those little moments to keep safe in my mind's little box of memories.

Anyhow, I'm waxing nostalgic when today it's time to share my design team layout for CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. If you haven't joined in on the fun yet, I invite you to come over and play one of the funnest scrapbooking challenges there is!

Here's this month's case file:

To solve the case, my evidence includes Christmas/winter elements, wood, brads, circular elements.

As testimony, I used the December journal prompt #17: the best gift you could receive. Lucky for me, those little fingers and toes are already mine!

Here's a little info about how to play along with the case file.
The scene is the inspiration for the case file, which contains a color scheme, clues, and testimony. To complete the challenge, use all five colors, choose THREE of the clues for your layout, and choose one of the journaling prompts (testimony). For case files released on the first of the month, like this one, there is also a sketch attached.

Thanks for coming over today. Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. Well you sure nailed this challenge!! The photo is awesome and the story is beyond adorable!!! Such a wonderful memory to have and I would be the same way....remembering it year after year. It made me giggle a little when you wrote that he just disappeared - ha! Love the pops of black from the B&W photo to the embellishments & papers. Great job on this one!
