About

Welcome! I'm Carrie. I launched the Dear Zae blog shortly after my son was born because I didn't want to forget a single moment. I'm passionate about capturing and preserving our memories and stories. Since you're here, I'm betting you are too! And I'm so glad you're here, because that means you're either starting your scrapbooking journey or looking to take your scrapbooking to the next level. Either way, you're in the right place.

Every moment is precious, from the hallmark birthdays and holidays to the everyday, the little moments that make up our lives. There's a special trait among scrapbookers that gives us the insight to capture the days and document them before they're lost and forgotten.

I'm a wife and stay at home to Isaiah Mathias, our Zae. I've always been a creative type. One of my first jobs was at a Michaels craft store. I put that employee discount to good use. I tried acrylics, watercolors, and oil paint. I made jewelry. I bought a sewing machine and made quilts.

In 2011, I found my true calling: scrapbooking. I've been scrapping ever since, making mistakes and learning from them, making discoveries and thrilling in them. And now I'm passing it all on to you in the hopes that you'll have less of the mistakes and more of the thrills.

I'm passionate about capturing my family's memories, and I'm just as passionate about getting others started on their own scrapbooking journeys. There's nothing more priceless than capturing your story. And only you can tell it!

I want to encourage you to get out those dusty boxes of photos and start giving them the love they deserve. I'll be here to help you along the way. If you have questions, contact me! If I don't have the answers, I'm eager to learn something new. If you're feeling stuck, check out the monthly challenge round-up to kick-start your creativity. If you need inspiration, check out the layouts in the endless gallery at Scrapbook.com.
